Linear Equations – Graphical Method

|

Any Equation of the form:

ax + by = c is defined as linear equation in two variables, where a, b and c are constants.

The Pair of linear equation may have:

  1. Unique Solution
  2. Infinite Many Solutions
  3. No Solution

Graph of a linear equation represent a straight line.

In case the graphs of the pair of linear equation are intersecting lines, we have a unique solution and a point of intersection represent the solution.

In case the graphs are coincident lines, pair of linear equation has infinite solutions.

In case the lines are parallel, the pair of linear equation has no solution.
