CIRCLE
The collection of all the points in a plane, which are at a fixed distance from a fixed point in the plane, is called a CIRCLE
Circle divides the plane into three parts:
(i) The CIRCLE
(ii)Inside the circle known as its INTERIOR
(iii)Outside the circle known as its EXTERIOR
CHORD
Line segment whose end points lie on the circle is known as a CHORD
Chord which passes through the centre is called a DIAMETER
ARC
Piece of circle between two points is known as an ARC
Longer one is known as MAJOR ARC
Smaller one is known as MINOR ARC
SEGMENT
Region between the chord and either of the arcs is known as SEGMENT of the circle.
There are two types of segments:
MINOR SEGMENT
MAJOR SEGMENT
SECTOR
Region between the arc and the two radii is known as SECTOR of the circle.
There are two types of sectors:
MINOR SECTOR
MAJOR SECTOR
